Half-monthly Budapest passes will be discontinued from Friday, January 30. According to the Budapest Transport Center (BKK), this will simplify and standardize the product range and expand the range of passes available for purchase on the BudapestGO app, as stated on their website.
Several changes will take effect in the BKK’s product portfolio at the end of the first month of the year. The Budapest Metropolitan Municipality and the BKK aim to encourage passengers to use public transport regularly, so they will strive to offer passes that are easy to purchase, simple to use, and affordable.
Previously purchased half-monthly Budapest passes can still be used until their validity period ends, as indicated on the pass.
The range of products available in the BudapestGO app is also expanding. From January 30, the following passes will also be available for purchase in the BKK mobile app:
- annual Budapest pass for companies;
- annual national pass (full price);
- annual national pass (discounted);
- annual Pest County pass (full price);
- annual Pest County pass (discounted).
